Sherri Cassell Artist Statement and Biography

I am a landscape painter who resides in the beautiful Santa Ynez Valley, California. I am inspired by the oak trees and rolling hills I see outside my studio window. My focus is to express the landscape in a slightly abstracted way using texture and expressive color. The mediums I use are acrylic and also oil and cold wax, both of these mediums are perfect for creating texture and brilliant color. I also use the medium of pastel to create small intimate studies of the landscape.
